Even before the IPL 2025 began, all eyes were on Rishabh Pant, the most expensive player in the IPL’s history. But after the first match, it seems the LSG team owners would already be regretting their decision.
Social media was filled with people bashing the ₹ 27-crore wicket-keeper batsman after he got out on a six-ball duck against DC. Not only that his performance as a captain and behind the stumps was even more terrible as he missed a crucial match-winning stumping in the last over.

Netizens were quick to call out Rishabh Pant fans who missed no chance to target KL Rahul during the Champions Trophy despite his amazing performance in the tournament. Now, Rahul’s camp feels vindicated that Rohit and Gambhir didn’t select Pant in any match of CT.
While some may call this bashing harsh, with a ₹27 crore price tag on his head, Pant has to make sure he makes it count in every game. Even if you are not the best performer, his horrendous mistakes in all departments have left people questioning if he was ever worthy of the highest bid in IPL history.
