The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a chargesheet against the infamous Lawrence Bishnoi Gang, who had taken responsibility for the murder of NCP leader and former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique.
In the chargesheet, the NIA has pointed out eerie similarities between the Bishnoi gang and Dawood Ibrahim’s D-company, drawing parallels between the two gangs. The Bishnoi Gang has experienced a similar rise to D-company, with 700 shooters operating across 11 states.

Led by Satwinder Singh aka Goldy Brar, the gang has massively expanded its influence from Punjab to now dominating multiple states across northern India.
Recruiting vulnerable youth through social media has been one of the key characteristics of the gang. The Bishnoi Gang lures the youth by playing with their emotions and promising settlement in foreign nations like Canada.

The public has shown fierce outrage against such gang-related violence, with people on social media duly pointing out the increasing problems with the glorification of gang and gun culture among the youth, demanding stricter laws to dismantle such gangs.
While the NIA has taken strict action on this issue and filed a chargesheet against 16 key figures including Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar, people fear that it might be too late to curb the rise of this dangerous syndicate, with the race against time already lost much earlier.
