BRS working president KT Rama Rao said that his sister, BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha, has become ill at Tihar Jail and has lost a significant amount of weight.
Kavitha was arrested earlier this year for her alleged involvement in the Delhi Liquor Policy Scam. She was arrested in two cases filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Speaking at Telangana Bhavan today, KTR said that Kavitha has lost around 11 kgs during her jail sentence and is taking medication daily as she has also developed high blood pressure.
Recently, KTR, along with Harish Rao, visited Kavitha at Tihar Jail while they were in Delhi. KTR said that they are keeping 30,000 prisoners in a jail which was designed to hold only 11,000.KTR also pointed out that the jail is not clean at all.

Earlier today, Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia, who was arrested in the same Delhi Liquor Scam case, was granted bail by the Supreme Court.
KTR said that Kavitha’s bail petition is in process and expressed hope that she would also be released soon, just like Sisodia.

Kavitha was taken into custody on March 15th of this year. Since then, she has filed multiple bail petitions, but all of them have been rejected.
This was the first time KTR showed concern on his sister publicly. Meanwhile, KCR did not even meet her in Jail.
