KTR and Jagan Fell In Their Own Trap!

Social media has become one of the most influential tools across various sectors in today’s society. Even in politics, it can play a major role in shaping or dismantling governments.

However, leaders should stop being confined to the digital world, thinking it is the only key to success in politics. Observing the current scenario, it looks like YSR Congress Party chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and BRS working president KT Rama Rao are trapped in their own social media strategies.

Both BRS and YCP have a significant social media presence, with numerous teams dedicated to their IT cells. Yet, these teams seem to be doing more harm than good for KTR and Jagan.

Irrespective of the number of teams or social media warriors a party might employ, if those managing the party’s accounts lack insight into grassroots politics and public expectations, it is of no use.

Jagan and KTR believed that a huge social media presence and paid accounts would secure votes in elections. However, social media buzz did not translate into votes, resulting in both parties facing defeats in their respective states.

Even after these defeats, Jagan and KTR continue to rely heavily on their social media handles to constantly criticise the governments of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. However, without a grounded understanding of political realities, this digital noise will remain useless.

Until they realise the same, the social media strategies of BRS and YCP will be like empty vessels that make more noise but are of no use.
