Kim Soo Hyun’s agency, Gold Medalist, is taking serious legal action over some of the malicious posts making the rounds online and has reportedly filed multiple lawsuits. On April 15, the management company, co-owned by the actor himself, released an official statement claiming they’re going all out against harmful content, including speculative rumours and personal attacks, targeting the Queen of Tears star amid his ongoing controversy with the late actor Kim Sae Ron. Right now, the internet is divided. Loyal fans of Soo Hyun have launched several campaigns in his defence, while the others are calling for his cancellation, hurling everything from harsh criticism to disturbing accusations, even going as far as labelling him a paedophile.
Kim Soo Hyun’s sues cyberbullies across global platforms
On Monday, the agency filed the complaint under Korean laws that deal with defamation and insults. According to Gold Medalist, the decision was made based on fan reports and their own monitoring of online platforms where hate was being thrown around. The lawsuit specifically targets “cyber wreckers” who are anonymous trolls or YouTubers who twist facts or make clickbait content to get views. The agency says these people are spreading cyberbullying, launching smear campaigns, and they’re not going to tolerate it anymore. “Malicious slander, the spread of false information, personal attacks, and sexual harassment across online communities and social media platforms are serious criminal acts that must not be taken lightly.”

Not just in Korea..
Gold Medalist has announced that its lawsuits are not limited to South Korean websites or netizens. They’re going after international websites, pages, and social media accounts too—working with overseas legal teams to take down harmful content on platforms like YouTube and X (formerly Twitter). So, even if someone is based abroad, they won’t be safe if they’ve posted malicious content. “We are also seriously concerned about the actions of so-called cyber wreckers… We too will respond firmly, including through collaboration with overseas legal representatives,” the agency confirmed.
The agency further confirmed that more lawsuits are incoming. They’ve been monitoring the situation for a while and are planning to keep filing more legal complaints against any content that tries to defame the actor. “We plan to continue filing additional complaints against malicious posts that defame our artist… and take all necessary legal action to protect his rights.”

Legal action, why now?
For days now, the internet has been flooded with accusations levelled against the It’s Okay to Not Be Okay star for his involvement in the late actor Kim Sae Ron’s life, allegedly contributing to her emotional distress in the days leading up to her death. A YouTube channel named Garosero was the first to accuse the actor of dating the Bloodhounds star when she was a minor, and since then, it’s opened a floodgate of damning accusations. Alleged evidence in the form of screenshots, photos, and more has been surfacing, with the bereaved family also stepping in and filing a lawsuit. In response, the actor held a press conference and filed a counter-lawsuit. The back-and-forth hasn’t slowed down. While some posts claimed there was a romantic link, others turned into full-blown conspiracy theories, including wild claims about stock manipulation using Kim Sae Ron’s name. According to the agency, some content creators have jumped on the scandal just to boost views, going as far as editing videos to make it look like there’s “proof” when there really isn’t.
