After weeks of silence following Gold Medalist and Kim Soo Hyun’s lawsuit, the legal representative of Kim Sae Ron’s family, attorney Bu Ji Seok, and Garo Sero Institute’s host YouTuber Kim Se Ui held a second press conference on May 7, in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The duo, who threatened to expose Soo Hyun’s relationship with the late actor, released an alleged private audio clip of Kim Sae Ron where she spoke to an acquaintance about her relationship with the actor. The startling audio recording also reveals that the Queen of Tears star had a sexual relationship with her when she was just an eighth grader.

Kim Sae Ron admits to a sexual relationship with Kim Soo Hyun at the age of 14
The recording dates back to January 10, 2025, when Sae Ron was alive and reportedly got married overseas. According to the audio, the two started dating when Sae Ron was in middle school, and their secret relationship continued until she entered university. While these claims were made by the bereaved family earlier as well, the part that shocked everyone the most was when the friend asked her if she was legally an adult when the relationship became physical, and Kim Sae Ron replied that it first happened during her 8th-grade winter break. Kim Sae Ron said, “The first time we did it was when I was in 8th grade, during winter vacation.” She also seemed to regret it, saying, “Even then… thinking about it now, should I say that I was being taken advantage of?” To which the acquaintance, who has been named ‘A’, responds, “F***, of course you were being taken advantage of.” They add, “I’m seriously going to kill him, that f***er.”
In the same audio recording, the late Bloodhounds star also revealed how the actor, who plays a nice boy on screen, is a ‘psycho’ who used to even show her ‘explicit’ photos involving someone he was dating at the time. Not only this, but he also gave a nickname to the female idol and saved her contact under a name that hinted at how she smelled. Kim Sae Ron said, “What makes him weird is that he’d show me pictures. He said the idol he slept with smells like miyeok (seaweed), so he had her name saved as ‘miyeok’ in his phone and sent me that.” She added, “If I had the power or support, I would’ve told everything a long time ago.” Following the audio reveal, the backlash against Kim Soo Hyun has grown louder than ever. People slammed his actions as disgusting and offensive, saying he was so obsessed with power that he thought he could get away with anything without anyone finding out.
Kim Sae Ron’s family files criminal case against Kim Soo Hyun
After releasing the alleged evidence, Kim Sae Ron’s family filed a criminal lawsuit against Kim Soo Hyun, according to Koreaboo. The charges include “inappropriate conduct involving a minor.” On their part, Kim Soo Hyun’s agency denied all the allegations in a lengthy statement, calling the recordings false and part of a larger attempt to damage the actor’s image. Gold Medalist had earlier filed a lawsuit against both Sae Ron’s family and YouTuber Kim Se Ui, alongside his Garo Sero YouTube channel. The agency has further promised to take legal action against what they called “manipulated” evidence. Meanwhile, fans of Kim Soo Hyun from China sent trucks near the press conference location with signs supporting him. The banners read things like, “We’ll be with Kim Soo Hyun forever” and “Reveal the truth, clear his name.”
