Much to the elation of the fans of both actor Jr NTR and director Prashanth Neel, the makers have unveiled the release date of their much-anticipated project, tentatively titled NTRNeel. One of the most hyped films in the country at the moment, NTRNeel also marks the first collaboration between the actor and director, renowned for their big-ticket films. The production of the project is currently underway in Karnataka, and NTR joined its sets on April 22.
Featuring an explosive blend of action, drama and mass appeal, NTRNeel will hit the screens on June 25, 2026. Bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers, the production house behind recent blockbusters like Pushpa 2: The Rule, Good Bad Ugly and Jaat, the film promises to be a cinematic spectacle on par with the KGF films. However, the makers have consciously kept more details regarding the movie, particularly its plot, under wraps to keep the anticipation high. Nonetheless, considering Prashanth Neel’s knack for heavily dramatised spectacles and NTR’s flair for on-screen mass appeal, the movie is touted as one of the biggest under-production projects in the country now. A special glimpse video of the project will be unveiled on Jr NTR’s birthday on May 20.

For Jr NTR, who has been riding a wave of massive success with a string of recent hits, the collaboration with Prashanth Neel is expected to elevate his career to new and greater heights. Last seen in Koratala Siva’s Devara: Part 1, NTR will be next seen in Ayan Mukerji’s War 2, which marks his Bollywood debut. Following the Jr NTR project, Prashanth Neel is likely to move on to Salaar: Part 2 — Shouryaanga Parvam, the sequel to his Prabhas-starrer Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire (2023).
The Mythri Movie Makers project marks Jr NTR and Prashanth Neel’s first film together.
Interestingly, NTR hasn’t faced even a single box office disappointment since Rabhasa (2014). All his subsequent movies, such as Temper (2015), Nannaku Prematho (2016), Janatha Garage (2016), Jai Lava Kusa (2017), Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava (2018) and RRR (2022), emerged as massive box office successes. In Prashanth Neel’s case, although his debut movie Ugramm (2014) did not gain as much reception as he had expected, his sophomore directorial venture, KGF: Chapter 1 (2018), emerged as an industry hit and opened to national acclaim. Thus, its sequel, KGF: Chapter 2, became a bigger hit and eventually ended up becoming the third highest-grossing film in India. Salaar, however, failed to emulate KGF’s success.
