Hundreds of women staged a protest in front of Sakshi television channel condemning the derogatory comments made by journalist V.V.R. Krishnam Raju during a discussion on the channel on Saturday.
The protestors, led by Telugu Desam Party (TDP) women wing on Monday, raised slogans demanding that the Sakshi management tender apology to the women in the State.
The TDP leaders and the protestors alleged that the television channel management insulted women farmers of Amaravati Capital region, and demanded action against the journalist and the anchor.
The Amaravati Women JAC members demanded the government to arrest journalist Krishnam Raju and the staff of the news channel who telecast the debate.
Condemning the derogatory remarks against the Amaravati women farmers, protests continued at Sakshi TV channel offices at various places in the State on Monday.
