Atlee, who was also present at the event, opened up about the budget of the film. He said, “I narrated the film on a Zoom call during Covid times. I know theatrical footfall was going down and people were not ready to greenlight even a Rs 30-40 crore film. I know because I am also a producer. But sir (Shah Rukh Khan) greenlighted a Rs 300 crore film when everyone was skeptical.” He said with a laugh, “But we didn’t finish at Rs 300 crore. We went more. We made a blockbuster in three days and now, we are flying.” Atlee thanked Red Chillies for not baulking under the increased costs, and expressed special gratitude to Shah Rukh’s manager, Pooja Dadlani. “It’s like working with family,” he said.

On its ninth day, Jawan earned Rs 21 crore, bringing its total domestic nett collection to Rs 410.88 crore. The movie had a strong start with Rs 75 crore on the opening day, followed by Rs 53.23 crore on the first Friday, Rs 77.83 crore on the first Saturday, and Rs 80.10 crore on the first Sunday.
