Jawan audio launch live updates: Shah Rukh Khan recites dialogue from DDLJ, strikes signature pose on stage

Jawan director Atlee said, “When I came to Mumbai, many people suggested me to work with king of the north AkshayKumar and Salman Khan. To understand their work, I watched Jaan-E-Mann. Liked the movie and asked about its box-office. My Manager said it was a disaster because they clashed with Shah Rukh Khan’s Don. Then I watched Don and made Jawan with Shah Rukh Khan.”

The Jawan audio launch event will be telecast on Sun TV on September 3.

Shah Rukh Khan said, “I’m humbled. Thank you so much for having me here. I love Tamil films. I realized earlier in life that the finest films come from Tamil.”

Shah Rukh Khan greeted everyone in Tamil. He said, “Marana Mass Atlee! Attakasamaana Vijay Sethupathi!” “Choreographer Shobi made me dance like a mad man. I told him I can’t dance like Rajinikanth or Thalapathy Vijay. I can’t even dance like Atlee. But he made me dance a lot,” he continue and also wished, “Insha Allah, hope we will be able to perform our best. And maybe, the people of Tamil Nadu will adopt us as their own.”

Director Atlee revealed that Nayanthara couldn’t make it to the Jevent due to Onam. He said, “When I was working with director Shankar for Enthiran in Mumbai. I was told by my friend that we are shooting outside SRK’s house. He asked me to pose in front of the gate for a pic. After 13 years, the same gate opened and King Khan himself went, ‘Welcome Atlee sir’. So, it’s true. If you respect women in your life, good things will happen. Nayanthara couldn’t make it today because of Onam. She is still in Kerala.”

In a candid moment, Vijay Sethupathi says when he was in school, he had a crush on a girl, but she was madly in love with Shah Rukh Khan. So as the villain of Jawan, he’s got the chance to take revenge from the star. Shah Rukh wittily responded, “You can take revenge, but you can’t take the girls away from me.”

Shah Rukh Khan took to the stage and appreciated the food of Tamil Nadu. “I had a six pack, but I have a paunch now because the food here in Tamil Nadu is the nicest, best and chilliest,” he said. He then recited the “paan punya” dialogue from Jawan and the popular “Senorita” dialogue from his 1995 blockbuster Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. He then performed his walk from Jawan on its theme music and also struck his siganture wide-arms pose.

Sanya Malhotra, who plays one of the pack of girls that Shah Rukh Khan’s titular character leads in the film, shared a selfie with the star from the event on her Instagram Stories. She added the film’s song Chaleya as the background music.

Jawan composer Anirudh Ravichander takes Shah Rukh Khan to stage as he sings Zinda Banda. Shah Rukh joins him on stage and dances on the track, as Anirudh sings and fans hoot loudly.

Jawan director Atlee talked about his experience of working with Shah Rukh Khan. He also said that Thalapathy Vijay kept motivating him and is one of the biggest reasons why Jawan happened. Vijay is rumoured to have a cameo in the Shah Rukh-starrer as well.

Kamal Haasan, Shah Rukh Khan’s co-star from his 2000 period crime film Hey Ram, video-calls at the event since he could not make it there physically. He says he wants “Shah Rukh bhai” to succeed. “The way you’ve conducted your career of 30 years with panache and dignity in the face of the worst outrages is commendable,” he says.

Yogi Babu, who also stars in Jawan, says, “The first day when I went to the shooting spot, SRK sir was there. When I went and introduced myself, he remembered me and said – welcome bhai, 13 years back, Chennai Express. That was more than enough for me.”

Shah Rukh Khan burned the dance floor as he joined Anirudh Ravichander during his Zinda Banda performance.

Priyamani at the event said, “It makes me so emotional to see Shah Rukh Khan getting all the love he deserves. I’ll always be grateful to Atlee sir, Anirudh (Ravichander) and the people of south India for showering Shah Rukh Khan with so much love.”

Lyricist Vivek said, “Since we are in Tamil Nadu, I will start talking about a Tamil actor first. He did one of the most wonderful movies in the history of Indian cinema. The film’s name is Hey Ram, by Kamal Haasan, and the actor is Shah Rukh Khan. He played a wonderful role. There’s a dialogue that I want to quote which is relevant even now… ‘I am a brother of Ram, but my name is Amjad Ali Khan.’ What a powerful line!”

Lyricist Vivek said at the Jawan event, “2.8 billion people know Tom Cruise, But 3.2 billion people know Shah Rukh Khan.”

Sunil Grover who is a part of Jawan, took to the stage and started off with Shah Rukh Khan’s Om Shanti Om dialogue as he revealed that he once just wanted to see the actor in real life. He also said that working with Shah Rukh is a ‘dream come true’ moment for him. 

Art director Muthuraj said, “Shah Rukh Khans magnanimity gave a livelyhood to 3000 families in Chennai , he could have easily arranged for the sets in Mumbai , but still he came all the way to Chennai ! We thank Shah Rukh Khan on behalf of all the families who benefited.”

Jawan’s editor Ruben: I thank Shah Rukh Khan for trusting us. Not just one, but a whole bus of Tamils landed in the North. It needs some guts to do that. Also, he is a great human… For example, at the editing table, he told me to cut his portions and spare the scenes of others.

Jawan’s editor Ruben said, “I am not good at Hindi and most of the technicians also aren’t. But when I went there to shoot in some unknown locations, everyone around me was Tamil on the sets. We should thank Atlee for making it feel like home. I love Vijay Sethupathi… Most importantly the films where he is the villain. In Jawan, he has played a character which is death personified. His role gave me sleepless nights.”

According to news agency PTI, Shah Rukh Khan offered prayers at Mata Vaishno Devi in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. As per the report, he reached the shrine late Tuesday night to pay his obeisance. A brief video reportedly showing the actor at the shrine, dressed in a hooded blue jacket and his face fully covered, surfaced on social media.
