Jagan Must Prove His Commitment By Disqualifying That MP

The Waqf Amendment Bill was introduced to address long-standing issues such as mismanagement, corruption, and encroachments on Waqf properties, while aiming to enhance transparency, accountability, and efficiency in their administration.

Waqf is the third-highest landowner in the country after the Indian Railways and the Armed Forces.

YSR Congress voted against the Waqf Amendment bill in the Lok Sabha to save its Minority Vote Bank.

There are rumors that the party MPs in Rajya Sabha voted for the Bill so as not to hurt the BJP, which may risk accelerating Jagan’s cases. YSR Congress condemned those reports and said that it had issued a Whip to its Rajya Sabha MPs to vote against the Bill.

But then, it is official that YSR Congress Rajya Sabha MP Parimal Nathwani voted in favor of the Bill.

Nathwani is the Director of Corporate Affairs of Reliance Industries.

Jagan nominated him to the Upper House in 2020 on the recommendation of the BJP, but he made Nathwani join the YSR Congress before sending him to the Rajya Sabha.

So Nathwani defied the Party’s Whip.

If a Party MP defies the Whip, the Party can press for his disqualification.

Just with a complaint, the disqualification will be very easy because Nathwani’s vote will be recorded in the House.

But Jagan will not do that because he fears retaliation by the BJP.

His cases, which have been lying in the dust for years together will automatically become active, and the Vivekananda Reddy Murder case is already there. So Jagan will not dare to touch Nathwani.

That itself exposed Jagan Mohan Reddy and his Minority Vote Bank tactics.

That also brings to the question if the remaining YSR Congress Rajya Sabha MPs voted in favor of the Bill despite the Whip.

Meanwhile, despite voting in favor of the Bill, TDP moved some crucial amendments to favor Muslims and got them accepted.

Meanwhile, the other day, President Droupadi Murmu gave her assent, and it has become a law.

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi and Congress MP Mohammed Javed challenged the Act in the Supreme Court on the grounds of violating constitutional principles.

They allege that the amended law interfered with the religious practices of Muslims.
