YS Jagan Mohan Reddy tried to kill the concept of Amaravati in the name of three capitals.
Way back in 2014, Chandrababu Naidu decided that Amaravati would be the capital of Andhra Pradesh. More than 25,000 farmers believed his vision and gave 33,000 acres in land pooling.

YSR Congress delayed the construction by going to courts on various issues and then came the 2019 elections.
2019-24 was a nightmare for Amaravati farmers. After giving lands to the state capital, the farmers struggled big time after the Government changed.

Jagan who promised to continue the capital changed his word immediately after coming to power. He brought a bizarre theory like three capitals unsuccessful across the globe and got tangled in a legal mess.
In Jagan’s rule, not even a single brick is laid for the capital. More than ten years of its existence, Andhra Pradesh has no capital at all.

Farmers of Amaravati took to the streets and protested for 1631 days for their rights.
Lathis broke on the back of the farmers. Cases were registered. Even women were dragged by their hair in the agitation. The courts delayed the process and thus Amaravati got saved. Chandrababu Naidu is back in power and Amaravati has come back to life.
The Jungle Clearance works are nearing completion and the Central Government managed to get a Grant of 15000 Crore from World Bank.
The state cabinet on Tuesday approved the development work in Amaravati at a cost of Rs 11,471 crore. At that time, a plan was made for the construction of the capital at a cost of Rs 41,000 crore. Now the cost will increase by 30 percent.
Very soon, tenders will be called for eighteen works of Amaravati. 360 km of trunk roads, 1200 km of layout roads, and 3,600 apartments are being constructed. 5 towers, Assembly and High Court buildings will be constructed as administrative buildings.
The tenders will be called by this month-end and the construction will begin next month.
Only for these eighteen works, the loss due to the delay is 2507.42 Crore. If we consider the entire project, the loss will be huge.
That is because one man (Jagan) thought Amaravati should be changed so that the Capital Credit should be denied to Chandrababu Naidu.
