In general, it is not just one or two films that make or break the business, but 2024 has been a bad year for the trade as a whole. So far, except for films like Hanuman, Kalki, and Tillu Square, no other film has made a significant impact. The situation is that bad.
The next big release and high-budget production is Koratala Siva’s Devara with Jr. NTR. Given that the film is being shot on an epic scale and is targeting the Hindi market in a big way, the pressure on Koratala to deliver is immense.

If he delivers an average film, it may still perform well commercially in Telugu due to the vacuum, similar to how an average film like Kalki took advantage of the box office. But for Devara to grab attention in Hindi, only strong content will suffice, as NTR does not have the same pull in the Hindi market as Prabhas.
So far, while the couple of songs released have received an average initial response, but they are gaining traction due to the star power involved. The hype is on track and is only expected to grow as the release date nears.
