Rajinikanth is bagging the new-age Tamil cinema directors for his upcoming line-ups. Following Nelson Dilipkumar and Lokesh Kanagaraj, he is interested in collaborating with the critically acclaimed Maari Selvaraj for his next.
Maari Selvaraj is currently awaiting the release of his next movie, Vaazhai, which is going to be released on August 23rd. Parallely, he is directing a movie with Dhruv Vikram as the lead, titled Bison. After this, he is going to direct two movies, one with Dhanush and the other with Karthi. Once he completed these two movies, there were lots of possibilities for Maari Selvaraj to direct Thalaivar 173, aka Rajinikanth’s 173rd film.

Maari Selvaraj, in a recent interview, opens up that Rajinikanth liked his working style and his movies, and he was also interested in collaborating with himself on a movie, he also mentioned that there is a high possibility for this collaboration to happen. Rajinikanth is currently acting as a lead in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie. Once he completes this movie, as per speculations, he is going to act in the sequel to Jailer, which is Jailer 2 with Nelson Dilipkumar. Once he completes these two movies, he is going to act in the Maari Selvaraj movie, which is his 173rd film.
If this collaboration happens, it’s going to be a blast as a superstar like Rajinikanth, and with the critically acclaimed Maari Selvaraj, the movie is going to be an interesting one. Still, nothing has been finalized. Let’s wait for the official announcement from the team.
