Mari Selvaraj’s Vaazhai, which was released in theatres on August 23rd, was a tremendous success and has acquired positive responses among the audiences and critics. Amidst every director after their prime success turns out to direct only Star movies, Mari Selvaraj broke this and has given a huge success.

Many directors, including Nelson Dilipkumar, Lokesh Kanagaraj, and H. Vinoth, were directing only star movies and diluting their style of movies to satisfy the stars’s audiences. This isn’t a good sign for the Kollywood industry, as this may lead to a diminishment of content-oriented films.
Even though Mari Selvaraj tastes the success with a star-cast movie such as Karnan with Dhanush, he doesn’t catch himself in the trap and has now directed a child movie, which is Vaazhai. This movie was a tremendous success and said to be a profitable venture for the production houses. Only some critically acclaimed directors such as Mysskin and Baala were not directing any star movies, and now Mari Selvaraj joins this elite list.

Every other director in Kollywood, once after their prime success, will now only be directing star movies, and they weren’t even able to satisfy the star’s audiences and also their audiences, as due to the star factor, the core idea of the director has to be changed to satisfy their fans. This will end up as an improper one and lead to average and flop movies. Let us hope hereafter star directors will also direct their own style of movies with upcoming actors so that many content-oriented movies may generate in Kollywood.
