While the case is primarily about a liquor party without obtaining due permission, one of the attendants tested positive for Cocaine.

That one positive gave a color that it is a rave party. Some Media Channels reported that KTR’s wife Sailima is also among the attendees.

BRS Korutla MLA Sanjay got into a spat with a Female Journalist asking her if they do not drink liquor in their house parties since it is Telangana culture.

The Female Journalist immediately gave it back saying that the MLA’s comments on a woman are outright insulting.

The MLA had to apologize and immediately withdraw his words. That triggered a discussion on social media about Liquor being part of Telangana Culture.

People are finding wrong about saying drinking liquor is a part of Telangana culture giving a wrong impression about the Telangana Society.

Some people are digging deep into the history.

“Back in those days, a big population of Telangana are involved in Toddy Tapping and they used to consume Toddy. Also, during Nizam’s rule, men used to consume toddy after strenuous physical work. Drinking maybe rampant here but it has got nothing to do with Telangana Culture or anything,” they say.

“BRS has normalized this nonsense. Earlier they used to use cuss words and say such language is Telangana culture. Now, they resort to Rave Parties and say Drinking is Telangana Culture. Thanks to BRS, using foul language, Mutton, and Liquor are said to be Telangana culture,” Congress supporters are fuming.

Telangana-centric films made by Telangana filmmakers also contributed to this. Consuming Mutton and Booze may be prevalent or rampant in Telangana but they are not Telangana culture. Trivial things like Mutton and Booze should not reflect Telangana Culture.

Political Parties and Filmmakers should think beyond these things when they talk about Telangana Culture.
