A new controversy has hit the Punjab Police after an alleged audio clip surfaced, in which a senior IPS officer is reportedly heard arranging a sexual encounter for money.
The clip, shared widely on social media, features explicit exchanges where the officer allegedly negotiates ₹20,000 for a woman and the same for her companion, while demanding a threesome.

The woman in the recording refuses the offer, later calling the officer a “chindi chor” when he lowers the amount. The conversation ends with the officer speaking in a commanding, transactional tone.
The audio was reportedly shared by Harpreet Singh, a Canada-based YouTuber, and has reached top officials including Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, DGP Gaurav Yadav, and AAP leaders Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia.

Though the officer’s identity is yet to be confirmed, the clip has triggered embarrassment across political and bureaucratic circles.
This comes at a politically sensitive time, just before the Ludhiana West by-election. A senior AAP member admitted the clip was shameful, but added that such behaviour wasn’t new and had occurred under previous governments as well.

If verified, the officer could face action under Section 370A of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which penalises sexual acts involving trafficked individuals with up to five years in prison.
Sources also claim that Constable Amandeep Kaur, allegedly linked to the case, has shared evidence with the Punjab DGP. The scandal adds to a growing list of misconduct cases involving Punjab Police, including recent drug-related arrests.
The police have yet to respond officially. Forensic examination of the audio is expected soon.
