But the Government is firm as this Beauty Pageant will encourage Tourism and put Hyderabad on the World Map. The Government says it aims to showcase its rich cultural heritage and global ambitions with this.

There is a war-like situation happening between India and Pakistan. People are questioning if it is right to have a Beauty Contest in these turbulent times.
The BCCI even canceled the remainder of the IPL for the same reason.
The teams have already started disbanding, with players and support staff understood to be taking the next available flights out of and within India.
There are calls already demanding to cancel or postpone the Beauty Pageant.
People are saying it is wrong to have such an event in these difficult times.
Moreover, a Global Event in a city may automatically put the city on the Terrorists’ Radar.
But it looks like the Revanth Reddy Government does not want to do that, as it may seem like an Opposition Victory.
To talk in the Government’s favor, it is a bit late to cancel, too.
Over 100 contestants have already reached Hyderabad.
The opening ceremony will be held at Gachibowli Indoor Stadium tomorrow, while the Grand Finale will be held at HITEX, Hyderabad, on May 31.
But then, Revanth Reddy may have to act if the situation further escalates.
The BCCI will lose 100s of Crores due to the calling off of IPL. The loss will be huge even if the alternative window is worked out. When BCCI took the call keeping away such calculations, there are similar expectations on the Telangana Government.
