IPL 2024 Playoffs Qualification Scenarios for Each Team after SRH vs GT, Match 66

The coveted Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) is nearing the culmination of the league stage with 66 matches covered so far. Match 66 was called off due to rain in Hyderabad and it has filled the third spot of the playoffs.

With four matches to go there is still a lot to fight for the remaining teams. The tussle between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru will decide the fourth team to reach the playoff.


Here’s how the scenario looks after the 66th game:

1. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)

Kolkata Knight riders have qualified for the playoffs and are perched atop the points table with 19 points in 13 games and one game to go.

2. Rajasthan Royals (RR)

Rajasthan Royals were the second team to qualify for the playoffs. They have gained 16 points in 13 games and they are left with one game.

3. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH)

Sunrisers Hyderabad are the third team to qualify for the playoff as rain played spoilsport in their game against Gujarat Titans. They have 15 points in 13 games and with one game left.

4. Chennai Super Kings (CSK)   

Chennai Super Kings are in a must-win game against RCB on May 18. They have 14 points in 13 games and a win will take them to playoffs.

5. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB)

Royal Challengers Bengaluru need to win the game against CSK by 18 runs or chase the target within 18.1 overs for a playoff berth. They have 12 points in 13 games.

6. Delhi Capitals (DC)

Delhi Capitals are officially out of the IPL 2024 as the SRH versus GT game was washed out. They have 14 points in the same number of games.

7. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG)

Lucknow Super Giants are almost out of the playoff race. Though they have 12 points in 13 games, their dismal Net Run Rate has made matters worse for them.

8. Gujarat Titans (GT)

Gujarat Titans’ last two games were abandoned due to rain and their playoff dream was also washed away. They have 12 points in 14 games. 

9. Punjab Kings (PBKS)

Punjab Kings were the second team to get eliminated from the league. They have 10 points in 13 games and have one game to go.

10. Mumbai Indians (MI)

Mumbai Indians were the first team to get eliminated from the IPL 2024. They have accrued eight points in the 13 games they have played.
