    IPhone: WhatsApp starts rolling out HD photo sharing on iPhone: How to check, steps to share and more


    Last week, Mark Zukerberg announced the HD photo support for WhatsApp. Following the announcement, Android users started receiving the feature gradually and starting today, the HD photo support is rolling out on iOS as well.

    Like Android users, who have been able to share HD photos with others via WhatsApp from a couple days now, iPhone users now also have this option. But, it’s a gradual rollout and may take a couple of days to reach all iOS users.
    How to check if your iPhone has received WhatsApp HD photo sharing feature
    There’s no rocket science here. All you need to do is update the app to its latest version and then open it. Head to any chat window, tap on ‘+’ icon and select an image from the gallery. See if there’s a new ‘HD’ icon at the top.
    If it is there, the feature is available on your iPhone. If it is not there, the feature isn’t available and you may have to wait for a while.

    Make sure to install the latest version of WhatsApp app
    Open the app and head to any chat window — Individual or group
    Now, select an image and tap on the ‘HD’ icon.
    Share the image.
    Once you tap on the HD icon, a new popup will appear asking you to choose the resolution. Select the HD resolution
    Tap on the Share button.
    Things you should know about sharing HD photos on WhatsApp
    HD Photos max out at around 12MP resolution. So, if the photos are bigger than 12MP resolution, then it will be resized to around 4000×3000 pixels.
    For multiple photos, you only need to enable the HD toggle once
    HD photos toggle is only available for photos that has 4000×3000 resolution. For lower resolution, the option won’t be available.
