New Delhi,UPDATED: Aug 21, 2023 14:19 IST
The iPhone 15 is already tipped to get several big upgrades in some areas and now, one more is seemingly added to the list. The 2023 iPhone is said to get a new 48-megapixel main rear camera, a new Dynamic Island design, a larger battery, faster charging with a USB-C port, and more. A fresh leak now shows that the iPhone 15 will also receive faster charging support, which Android users have been enjoying for a long time now. Here are all the details.
iPhone 15 series could get a big upgrade in years that Android users already enjoy
Apple could finally provide support for faster charging speeds and the iPhone 15 series is tipped to come with up to 35W fast charge, industry sources told 9To5Mac. If this turns out to be true, then this would be one of the biggest upgrades as people would likely be happy to know that Apple is planning to offer faster charging speeds.
Currently, Apple offers support for 20W charging with the iPhone 14 series, which is very slow and takes around 2 hours to charge the devices. Comparatively, Android phones priced under Rs 30,000 offer support for at least 80W fast charge, which provides a big relief in times when they need to head out for some important work. Either way, a fast and high-watt charger helps quickly fill the battery, and Android users have been enjoying this for a long time. Though, it is worth pointing out that the battery optimization and standby time of iPhones is really good.
Coming back to the latest development, the increase to 35W may not be as fast as an Android user gets with a 100W charger, the latest upgrade would help reduce charging times and offer faster speeds to iPhone users. Apple is also said to incorporate a USB Type C port in this year’s iPhones, which would be another big upgrade and help provide faster-charging speeds to users.
However, it is important to keep in mind that Apple no longer ships chargers ever since it launched the iPhone 12. But, Apple is expected to recommend users buy either its 30W MacBook Air charger or 35W Dual USB-C charger for maximum charging speed. The latter cost Rs 5,800 on Apple’s official website. But, people who already have a MacBook that has USB-C can use their fast charger and save money on this for the iPhone 15 series.
At the moment, it is unknown whether the company will provide 35W charging support on all iPhone 15 models or with select versions. We will have more clarity on this when the device launches. The rumour mill claims that the next generation iPhone 15 series could launch on September 12, which is not too far away and Apple is also soon expected to make an announcement.
