A team of Karnataka State Industrial Security Force (KSISF) personnel have been deputed to the Lal Bahadur Shastri reservoir over the river Krishna in Almatti in Vijayapura district.

Security arrangements have been intensified around major dams and reservoirs in Karnataka, in the wake of the tension on the India-Pakistan border.
A team of Karnataka State Industrial Security Force (KSISF) personnel have been deputed to the Lal Bahadur Shastri reservoir over the river Krishna in Almatti in Vijayapura district.
A total of over 100 officers and personnel have been deputed to Almatti. A team led by an assistant commandant, two inspectors and two sub inspectors, 17 assistant SIs, 65 head constables and police constables. A squad of 16 personnel change guard after every eight-hour shift. Teams are also going around in boats in the backwaters. KSISF personnel have been guarding dam sites since 2016.
The district police have also been deputed to the dam sites. Visitors are not allowed to climb over the dam gates. No vehicles are allowed to drive up around the dam premises. Similar measures are being taken to guard the reservoirs over the Ghataprabha in Hidkal, and Malaprabha in Naviluteertha near Saundatti in Belagavi district, police sources said.
