The American Dream feels more like a never-ending waitlist for many Indian techies. Even after spending decades in the US people are left frustrated and depressed facing continuous Green Card rejections.
A social media user shared this frustration after spending a decade in the US and jumping through F1 to OPT to H-1B, only to be stuck at the last hurdle for getting US residency.

They first applied for a green card through their employer (PERM), but delays forced them to try the marriage route instead. Even being married to a US citizen didn’t speed things up as the AOS process is taking too long.
Adding to the horrors, their H-1B renewal is also taking forever, costing them job opportunities. They wrote, “My other filing is also stalled after I got biometrics done. PD is 12/2/24, biometrics 12/31 and now all cases (EAD, AP, i130 and i485) are just at a stand still.”

More frustration piles in as the user claims they see others getting a green card in as early as four months.
This is just one story but thousands of Indian techies face this harsh reality.
