An Indian origin judge has passed a decision in the United States which can potentially shock Google. Indian American judge Amit Mehta, has ruled that Google’s search engine has been illegally exploiting its dominance in the market. The judge ruled that it squashes competition and stifles innovation.
This decision is seen as a landmark in the field of internet and can change the market which has been completely dominated by Google so far. The Indian origin judge observed and ruled that Google’s monopoly over this market is illegal.

The trial started nearly a year ago which saw the US Justice department against Google. This is also being labeled as the country’s biggest antitrust showdown in over 25 years. Amit Mehta also ruled that Google has worked in this manner to maintain the monopoly it has created in the search engine market.
Mehta had to move to the US when he was only 1 year old. He did his graduation from Georgetown University. His representation in the judiciary is a marker that the Indian American community is making its way in almost all ventures possible in the United States.
