An Indian-origin developer, Faraaz Yussuf, proposed a housing project in Minnesota, US, called Madinah Lakes, featuring 434 homes, shops, restaurants, sports fields, a park, and a large mosque.
The plan has sparked controversy between Yussuf and local residents. Some locals claim the project promotes segregation, while Yussuf argues that it’s designed to be inclusive but Muslim-friendly.

Yussuf’s background has added to the controversy. He was convicted of fraud and served prison time, and there are concerns about his credibility and whether he is a licensed contractor.
