Indian-American Nisha Desai Sues PayPal Over 0M

An Indian-American entrepreneur is taking on the fintech giant PayPal, suing the company for racial discrimination. It is a bold statement of an Indian woman standing up to a large corporation and challenging the racism breeding inside the corporation.

Nisha Desai, founder of Andav Capital, has claimed that PayPal’s $530 million initiative, launched in 2020 to support minority-owned businesses, unfairly excluded her firm. She revealed that the program prioritized only Latino and Black-owned businesses, costing her company millions in potential investment.

Desai’s lawyers are now standing firm against the e-commerce giant, pointing out how their policy is unfair to Asian American communities. Instead of building an inclusive space, PayPal is more focused on spreading good stories about themselves by serving specific minority groups.

A strong and level-headed entrepreneur like Desai won’t budge in front of these practices. Raised by Indian immigrants expelled from Uganda, Desai has held leadership roles at Deutsche Bank and J.P. Morgan before starting her own venture in the US.

It is important to note that it is not just about one Indian-origin woman but about questioning the corporate diversity programs and showing them the mirror.
