2024 wasn’t a good year for Bollywood as there wasn’t a single film other than Stree 2 which impacted the box office for several weeks. Despite having high expectations from various films throughout the year, none of them were able to bolster the box office.

Starting off the list with Alia Bhatt’s Jigra might be the perfect choice as the film was dependent on Alia and was seen as a good opportunity for the actress to give a decent performance single-handedly.

However, the film instantly lost the interest of viewers with its execution in the second half. When Alia ruthlessly battles with the ex-cop and finishes him off, the film takes a wrong turn and never aims to come back the right way. All these downgrades further showcased a poor climax which was negatively highlighted by the viewers and critics.
Akshay Kumar continued his run of flops with Khel Khel Mein, Sarfira, and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. His most anticipated film this year was BMCM alongside Tiger Shroff. However, the film turned out to be a disaster for its cheesy dialogues, sloppy plot, and underwhelming performances.

For instance, Alaya’s embarrassing scene involving Tiger Shroff calling him a snack was enough to make fans feel disconnected from the film. From the songs to the action sequences, nothing clicked for the team resulting in an all-out disaster.
Varun Dhawan aimed to finish the year with a bang for Bollywood. However, his Baby John did all the things the opposite way being one of the worst films of 2024 having disastrous collections at the box office. The low points of the film include Varun’s forced acting at some points, generic and underwhelming songs, and Varun’s dialogues which make no sense at all.

Being one of the most expensive films in India, Kanguva didn’t seem to deliver the way it should have. The artificial presentation of Suriya at some points felt a bit dragged and looked like a low-budget VFX play instead of being high-octane and thrilling.
Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2 might be the film that no one asked for and turned out to be one of the worst of the year. Piyush Mishra and Zakir Husain absolutely finished an already poor script with their disastrous performances and further received negative reviews countrywide.
As 2024 comes to an end, the Indian film industry has a lot of work to do in the upcoming years to produce masterpieces that can be enjoyed by moviegoers.
