India at Asian Games 2023, Day 12 schedule: Shuttlers in quarterfinal action, Ghosal eyes squash gold, women’s hockey semifinal, compound archers look to impress again | Asian-games News

Neeraj Chopra delivered once again on what was yet another rich-medal haul day, as India set a new record for their best ever medal tally at the Asian Games. As we reach the business end of the event, the tally is only set to increase.

Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Ojas Pravin Deotale and Co have been on fire in Hangzhou and they are potentially looking at more medals in the women’s and men’s compound team events on Thursday.

Hockey: Semifinal time for women’s team

The men have done their part to edge through to the final and now the attention shifts to Savita Punia and Co, who will face a stiff test against hosts China.

Badminton: Crunch time for top shuttlers

PV Sindhu, HS Prannoy, Satwik-Chirag are one win away each from ensuring a place on the podium. While Satwik-Chirag came through a tricky test in the round of 16 and will be favourites now to reach at least the semifinals, both Sindhu and Prannoy face tough challenges against He Bing Jiao and Lee Zii Jia respectively.

Squash: Saurav Ghosal on the brink of gold

The grand old man of Indian squash, who has been winning medals at Asian Games since 2006, will have his eyes on the elusive individual gold. He takes on Malaysia’s Ng Eain Yow, who he beat in the team semifinal but it won’t be easy again. Harinder Pal Singh Sandhu and Dipika Pallikal Karthik are also in the mixed doubles final
