In latest dig, Elon Musk targets Fauci: ‘My pronouns are prosecute or…’ | World News

As part of the ongoing ‘Twitter Files’ reports, the social networking site’s boss Elon Musk on Sunday took several swipes at Dr Anthony Fauci, the chief medical advisor to US President Joe Biden. Taking to Twitter, Musk wrote, “My pronouns are Prosecute/Fauci.”

This was not the only jibe Musk took at the top medical officer of the US, who is set to step down from his White House role as well as the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) by the month’s end.

The Tesla CEO initially shared a meme on Twitter, which was targetted at Biden and Fauci. The meme carried pictures of the two along with a text that read, ‘Just one more lockdown my king…’

He then upped his ante with a subsequent tweet, “Now things get spicy.”

Musk’s tweet came close on the heels of the release of the fourth installment of the ‘Twitter Files’ that reportedly stated how the firm, prior to the billionaire’s takeover, breached its own policies to prevent the spread of accurate information pertaining to Biden’s son – Hunter Biden’s – laptop story ahead of the 2020 US Presidential election. It also reportedly showed how top executives instrumented the ban of former president Donald Trump from the platform as well as the apparent justification for the suspension of medical experts and celebrities, who voiced their opinion against the Covid-19 vaccines.

Last month, Twitter refurbished its online rules that revealed it will no longer enforce its policy against Covid-19 misinformation raising concerns among public health experts and social media researchers that it could result in significant consequences if it downcasts vaccination and other measures to tackle the still-existent virus.

Musk himself has confirmed a ‘Twitter Files’ revelation on Covid-19. In response to a Twitter user who asked when a report on the virus and information on the suspension of doctors and scientists arrive, the Twitter boss said, “Oh it is coming bigtime…”

Last year, the billionaire, however, had clarified about his stand on vaccines saying he “supports” them “in general and Covid-19…specifically”. “The science is unequivocal. In very rare cases, there is an allergic reaction, but this is easily addressed with an EpiPen.”

In wake of the ‘Twitter Files’, Musk recently said that the firm is working on a new software update that will show users the “true status” of their account in order for them to know if they have been “shadowbanned”.
