By India Today World Desk: In dramatic scenes outside the Islamabad High Court, former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s party leader Fawad Chaudhry ran back inside the court premises moments after his release.

Fawad Chaudhry was arrested last week along with other Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party leaders for “inciting arson and violent protests under a thought-out plan for threatening peace”, as per Islamabad police. The protests broke out after the arrest of Imran Khan by Pakistani rangers outside the Islamabad High Court.

On Tuesday, soon after the Islamabad High Court ordered his release, Fawad Chaudhry came out of the court premises and sat inside his white SUV. However, upon seeing the cops outside the court, he quickly opened the door of the car and sprinted inside

According to Dawn News, Chaudhry ran inside the court as the police arrived to arrest him in another case.

Shortly after, the PTI shared a video on Twitter showing Fawad Chaudhry being escorted by lawyers inside the high court.

In the tweet, the party claimed that Fawad Chaudhry was abducted from the Supreme Court premises despite being granted bail. “Now, an attempt is underway once again to abduct him from the IHC despite [Fawad] being granted bail,” the tweet read.

Fawad’s wife Hiba said on Twitter, “They [tried] to arrest again.”

Imran Khan’s arrest on May 9 by the Pakistan Rangers at the Islamabad High Court premises triggered unrest in the country. The protests have led to several deaths and dozens of military and state installations being destroyed by the protesters.

Iman Khan was ousted from power in April last year after losing a no-confidence vote in his leadership, which he alleged was part of a US-led conspiracy targeting him because of his independent foreign policy decisions on Russia, China and Afghanistan.
