Ibrahim Ali Khan’s first film Nadaaniyan has made waves, both for the poor reception and the actor’s aggressive backlash against criticism. With co-starring Khushi Kapoor Netflix rom-com Nadaaniyan has been much criticised for its lackluster storyline, subpar acting, and uninspired dialogues.
Despite the poor reception, the actor’s tantrum against a critic’s bad review has drowned out the film itself. Ibhrahim was reportedly incensed with Pakistani critic Tamur Iqbal, who had posted a harsh review of Nadaaniyan. Ibrahim reportedly sent threatening texts, calling the critic an “ugly piece of trash” and vowing to make him “uglier” if they ever crossed paths.

The rant was posted on social media as screenshots, and this has been widely criticized. Tamur responded diplomatically, admitting that his “nose job” comment was tasteless but maintaining his criticism of the film.
The incident has drawn flak from netizens, with most mocking Ibrahim’s behaviour and questioning his maturity. Adding to the drama further, Mahima Chaudhry, the actress who played a supporting role in Nadaaniyan, defended the film by comparing its reception to that of Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal.

She argued that the audiences are often divided between film and escapism. Still, such words failed to help redeem the reputation of the movie as well as the public image of Ibrahim.
Graded with an IMDb score of 4.5/10 and mocking on its miserable attempt at star-launching Ibrahim, Nadaaniyan seems to be losing its critical as well as box-office battle.
