A recent string of disturbing incidents in Hyderabad has seen tech professionals, particularly women, being targeted with false job promises leading to sexual assault.
In one case, a 29-year-old software employee from Bengaluru was allegedly raped by Narasimha Reddy, a man she met on Facebook.

The victim lost her job in Bengaluru and was searching online for new opportunities when she connected with Narasimha Reddy. He promised her a job in Hyderabad and invited her to the city for an interview. Trusting his assurances, she traveled to Hyderabad with her family.
Upon arriving at Reddy’s consultancy in Vengalrao Nagar, Hyderabad, she was tied up in a room and raped by Narasimha Reddy. Another man, Luv Kumar, also sexually harassed her.

After the assault, she confided in her husband, who reported the incident to the Borabanda police station. The police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
The victim reported the crime to the police but has been hesitant to provide a formal statement, possibly due to fear of repercussions or personal issues. The police are urging victims to come forward and cooperate to bring the perpetrators to justice.

The incident highlights a serious issue where job seekers are being exploited under the guise of employment offers, underscoring the need for heightened awareness and protective measures for individuals seeking job opportunities.
