After a long gap, HTC took the wraps off its latest smartphone on Wednesday by announcing the HTC U24 Pro, a mid-tier Android smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC.
The offering is currently limited to the European Union (EU) and is priced at €564 (approximately Rs 50,915) for the sole 12 GB RAM and 256 GB variant. It will be on sale very soon, but the company did not divulge any details on an India launch.
The design of the HTC U24 Pro is reminiscent of some of the company’s previous models. It features a premium build with a metal frame and glass sandwich design. The front of the phone boasts a large 6.8-inch curved OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and an in-display fingerprint sensor, protected by unspecified Corning Gorilla Glass. The device also has an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance.
Powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC, the smartphone includes 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. It ships with Android 14, though there is no information on future software support.
The HTC U24 Pro can be paired with a VIVE XR Elite VR headset to stream content from the phone. It also features a microSD card slot for additional storage expansion.
The device is equipped with a triple camera setup at the back, including a 50 MP primary sensor, an 8 MP ultra-wide angle lens, and a 50 MP 2x telephoto lens. For selfies, it offers a 50 MP front camera with autofocus.
Powered by a 4,600 mAh battery, the HTC U24 Pro supports 60W wired charging and 15W wireless charging, along with up to 5W reverse wireless charging. Unlike most phones in its class, it includes a 3.5mm headphone jack and a notification LED indicator on the front, just like the good old HTC phones.
