HRF activists express grief over founding member Madhava Rao


The Human Rights Forum (HRF) activists have expressed grief at the passing of their friend, activist and senior advocate from Nizamabad Gorrepati Madhava Rao.

An activist since his student days, Madhava Rao had worked tirelessly for decades, beginning with Andhra Pradesh Civil Liberties Committee(APCLC).

Later, he became one of the founding members of the HRF. He was Telangana State president of HRF, Andhra Pradesh HRF State president K.V. Jagannatha Rao said in a statement.

Madhava Rao translated revolutionary literature, wrote many articles on regressive laws such as UAPA (Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, Mr. Jagannatha Rao added.

Madhava Rao’s death is a huge loss to not just his family and friends, but also to the society, the HRF members said.
