The Season 3 Reloaded patch of Warzone 2 is live on all platforms, and it has brought several nerfs and buffs to quite a few of the guns in the armory. These changes have diversified the meta of the title by several folds. However, at the same time, one of the overpowered guns of the Season 3 meta, the Cronen Squall has been left untouched, and is still ruining the day of anyone it comes across.

For those searching for a top-class loadout for Cronen Squall in Warzone 2 Season 3 Reloaded, expert streamer and YouTuber Metaphor has an excellent suggestion for them.

Metaphor’s Thermal Cronen Squall loadout is one of the fastest killers in Warzone 2 Season 3 Reloaded

Metaphor is a very well known YouTube content creator and streamer among the player base of Warzone 2. He is also recognized as one of the best keyboard and mouse players of the game. In one of his recent YouTube uploads, the expert streamer showcased a loadout of the Cronen Squall battle rifle, which he believes to be quite “overpowered” in the Season 3 Reloaded patch.

The Cronen Squall battle rifle was introduced to Warzone 2 in the Season 3 patch and can be unlocked by reaching Sector C11 of the Season’s battle pass. It is a powerful weapon platform that boasts the best damage range and fire rate among all guns of the battle rifle category.

The main cause behind the immense popularity of the gun is its impressive damage output. The gun boasts a jaw-dropping 534ms TTK in close to mid-range gunfights and an excellent 623ms TTK in long range engagements.

The other reasons behind the high pick rate of the gun are its very low recoil, even in the default configuration, and its excellent performance in both fully automatic and semi-auto firing modes. It is a highly versatile firearm that players can use to engage enemies in any combat range of Warzone 2.

According to metaphor, the attachments needed for the best thermal Cronen Squall loadout are as follows:

  • Muzzle – ZLR Talon 5
  • Barrel – HR6.8 Barrel
  • Optics – SZ Holo Therm
  • Underbarrel – FTAC Ripper 56
  • Magazine – 50 Round Drum

The ZLR Talon 5 will improve upon the damage range, bullet velocity, and recoil smoothness of the gun by a substantial margin. Additionally, being a suppressor, it will also muzzle the sound of gunfire and keep the operators from being pinged on the compass when they fire the gun.

The HR6.8 Barrel boosts the recoil control of the firearm and is needed to transform the Cronen Squall into a low-recoil laser beam. Not only that, but this barrel also improves the damage range, bullet velocity, and hip-fire accuracy of the battle rifle.

As mentioned in the title, this is a thermal scope loadout of the Cronen Squall. In this regard, Metaphor recommends players to use the SZ Holo Therm optics. The main reasons behind the usage of the thermal optics are the ease of keeping track of the enemy with the thermal target identifier and the ability to see through smoke since smoke grenades are becoming a common item in the players’ inventory.

Tuning for FTAC Ripper 56 (Image via Activision and YouTube/Metaphor)

The FTAC Ripper 56 underbarrel improves the aiming idle stability, hip-fire accuracy, and recoil stabilization of the firearm, making it easier for players to handle it while firing.

Lastly, the high fire rate of the Cronen Squall eats through the bullet count quite fast, and as such, the 50 Round Drum magazine is needed to engage against multiple opponents successfully.

This is Metaphor’s recommended loadout for the Cronen Squall battle rifle. According to him, the best method of using this gun is to switch to full-auto firing mode in close to mid-range engagements and use the semi-auto mode for long range gunfights.
