Pawan Kalyan entered the State Assembly for the first time after he got elected from Pithapuram. His majority is one of the highest in the state indicating the unanimous mandate he got.
Chandrababu Naidu made him the Deputy Chief Minister of the state and unlike the previous two governments, there is only one Deputy Chief Minister post this time so as to give Pawan Kalyan enough respect.

Whenever a film celebrity represents a constituency, there is so much media glare on it.
Availability is the biggest issue. It is quite common that the celebrity will find it tough to accommodate time for the constituency and the other parties will use it against him/her.

Ground report says that ‘availability’ is an issue for Pawan Kalyan as well.
But then, people in the constituency are not so bothered about it. Pawan Kalyan is said to be regularly in touch with the constituency via the local leaders.

Recently, he sent 12,000 sarees for women of the constituency for group Varalakshmi Vratams that were held at the sacred Kukuteswara Swami temple in Pithapuram.
Along with the sarees, the attended women were given turmeric, vermilion, and a silver idol of the goddess.
Usually, when political leaders distribute such gifts. They often distribute the cheapest ones but locals say the sarees sent by Pawan Kalyan are of very good quality. “Usually, only the poor take such gifts. But women across all social strata took the sarees and were happy with them,” locals say.
Certain areas of Pithapuram got inundated due to the recent floods. Pawan Kalyan immediately visited the constituency and had review meetings with the officials for relief works. This promptness at the need of the hour also impressed people.
The relief works by Janasainiks of the constituency in the floods also helped Pawan Kalyan, we are told.
Some areas of Pithapuram have repeated flood issues due to heavy inflows from the Yeleru and Tandava reservoirs whenever there are heavy rains. The previous breaches severely a few villages, submerging thousands of acres of agricultural land in the Pithapuram and Peddapuram constituencies.
Along with the damage to the houses and agricultural lands, Vehicular traffic gets affected between Pithapuram and Raparthi, Peddapuram and Gudivada, and Samarlakota and Pithapuram.
People are hoping that Pawan Kalyan will show some solution to this problem in this tenure itself.
