Horror Comedy Or Horrible Comedy?

Anees Bazmee’s ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ has finally made its release into the theatres, and social media is filled with reviews.

Directed by Anees Bazmee, BB3 has Kartik Aaryan in the lead role, along with the much-anticipated ensemble cast comprising Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit, and Triptii Dimri.

The first reactions on social media seem to be mixed, with people commending Kartik Aaryan for his portrayal of ‘Rooh Baba’ while trying to fill in the shoes of the OG Akshay Kumar.

The absence of Akshay Kumar was one of the biggest complaints. People felt that despite the high energy of Kartik Aaryan, he was not able to match with Akshay’s character from BB1.

Vidya Balan’s Role as Manjulika has received wide praise, with fans calling her the ‘real star’ for capturing the essence of her nostalgic character.

People felt Madhuri Dixit’s inclusion into the film to be a bit rushed, making it feel like a last-minute addition. There is also a growing sentiment among people saying that her role was massively ‘underused’.

The film’s storyline received a lot of backlash, with people finding it to be ‘repetitive and predictable’.

One user said, “It’s like Bhool Bhulaiyaa, but with the charm lost somewhere in the haunted mansion.”

While many people were thrilled by the scares and laughs, the general sentiment seemed to lean towards nostalgia for the original.

One viral tweet puts it in the best way — “Kartik tries, Vidya slays, but Anees Bazmee just forgot the ‘Bhoot’ of Bhool Bhulaiyaa!”

With a neck-to-neck competition from ‘Singham Again’, it would be interesting to see how BB3 performs in the coming days.
