Hopes on War 2 Jaat

With multiple successful films in 2023, there were expectations that 2024 might turn out to be good for Bollywood. Unfortunately, it did not happen, and only a few films managed to do some amazing business at the box office.

2025 also did not start on a promising note since big films like Sky Force and Deva failed to leave an impact. However, February was a turning point for Bollywood as Chhaava managed to gross more than Rs. 500 crores at the box office.

Audiences were then eagerly waiting for Salman Khan’s Sikandar, and it was supposed to record similar numbers due to the track record of director A.R. Murugadoss and producer Sajid Nadiadwala.

While the film collected Rs. 26 crores on the first day of release, the collections continued to drop, and it has now reached a point where there is no hope of getting a big pickup.

Notably, the numbers on day 4 are reported to be Rs. 4.75 crores, which is too low for a film featuring Salman. Moreover, the underwhelming response to Sikandar has specifically affected the single screens.

The numbers are too low compared to Salman’s last release on Eid, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, and the biggest flop after Yuvvraaj in 2008.

It seems like big stars are not enough anymore to help a film become successful. Films need a good script and sufficient entertaining factors to keep the audience engaged from the beginning to the end.

Many more big-budget films are releasing this year with popular faces in the lead. But a few of them are expected to do well on single screens, including War 2, Jaat, Housefull 5, Jolly LLB 3, and Welcome to the Jungle.

With eight more months left for 2026, it remains to be seen if 2025 can add a few more blockbusters to the list.
