Sri Lanka made history by defeating India in the final match of a three-game ODI series on August 7, winning the series 2-0. This was Sri Lanka’s first ODI series win against India in 27 years.

In the final game, Sri Lankan captain Charith Asalanka chose to bat first. Avishka Fernando scored 96 runs, and Kusal Mendis added 59 runs, helping Sri Lanka set a target of 249 runs.

India’s response fell way short, despite a promising start by captain Rohit Sharma, who scored 35 runs. After Rohit was out, the Indian batting lineup collapsed, and India was bowled out for just 138 runs, losing by a massive 110 runs.
