Usha Bala Chilukuri Vance, a practicing Hindu Brahmin, is set to become the Second Lady of the United States and possibly even the First Lady in the future.
Her role is historic as an Indian-origin leader as it brings a unique cultural and religious background to a great position in US history.

Her roots go back to Andhra Pradesh though she grew up in San Diego, California.
Usha’s family left India many years ago and has since donated land for many temples like the Sai Baba, Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy, and Goddess Bala Seeta temples.

She belongs to a small village called Vadluru and the villagers hope her role will bring pride to their community and strengthen U.S.-India ties.
Usha is a respected lawyer and a graduate of Yale Law School. She and J.D. Vance, Trump’s running mate, met there and married in 2014. They have three children.
