Telangana has been hit hard by the incessant rainfall over the last few days. The entire South Telangana received heavy rains and experienced a flood-like situation, whereas the rest of the state saw consistent heavy rainfall.

Lakes are overflowing, transportation has been cut off between various places, and people have lost their crops and properties, praying for support.

Districts like Khammam, Suryapet, and Nalgonda were badly hit by the continuous rainfall. While many leaders from both ruling and opposition parties are supporting people in these tough times, one main leader remains silent.

He is BRS chief K. Chandrashekhar Rao. Ever since BRS lost the assembly elections in Telangana, KCR has been confined to his farmhouse and is not taking part in active politics.

Until now, he attended only one assembly session, and that was on the budget announcement day. He neither took part in the subsequent budget discussions nor participated in any other assembly sessions.

After taking a long break following the assembly elections, KCR went on a Bus Yatra during the Parliament elections. His absence from active politics severely affected his Lok Sabha election campaign and resulted in BRS getting zero seats. Still, he is repeating the same routine.

He hasn’t come out of the farmhouse since the Parliament elections and has been constantly criticized by the public for this reason.

The recent floods provided KCR with an opportunity to get into the public space and assure the flood victims of support during these tough times.

People on social media opined that KCR should have conducted on-ground visits to the flood-affected areas, spoken to the victims, and assured them of mental and financial support. They believed it was a good opportunity to counter-attack the ruling Congress government.

However, KCR chose to remain silent on the issue and stayed confined to his farmhouse, making him a target for criticism from Congress leaders and supporters.

People further noted that even YS Jagan, who rarely leaves his Tadepalli residence, came out to meet and speak with the flood victims, while KCR continues to stay away from the public.

While KTR has been attacking Congress on social media by comparing their rescue efforts with Andhra Pradesh’s, Harish Rao and other BRS leaders are conducting on-ground tours to lend support to the people.

However, KCR’s absence is being noted by the public, and many believe that if he doesn’t leave the farmhouse at least now, it could not only his political career but also the entire BRS’s political future.
