Actor Harman Baweja was set up for success after being launched by his father, film producer Harry Baweja, in the futuristic romance film Love Story 2050. However, the film opened to poor reviews and negligible box office collections, which severely impacted Harman’s career.

The movie was produced by his mother Pammi Baweja, and his sister had also joined the family and helped in its production. Love Story 2050 also starred Priyanka Chopra. In an interview with Film Companion, the actor recalled what happened immediately after the film’s release, and said, “The day after it released, the four of us went on a vacation that wasn’t really a vacation. It was all four of us sitting in four different corners, wondering: What the f**k just went down?”

Harman was compared to actor Hrithik Roshan when he debuted, and this didn’t help him stand out. The actor had already signed more films, such as Victory, What’s Your Raashee and It’s My Life, but they flopped as well. He eventually stepped back from acting, to focus on production and writing. He said, “I was very disillusioned. I was like, ‘Do I need this? I’d rather just chill.’ I was never dying to get into acting. I just enjoyed it.”

Harman was recently seen in Hansal Mehta’s Netflix series Scoop, in which he played the role of JCP Harshvardhan Shroff. The Netflix crime drama is an adaptation of journalist Jigna Vora’s biographical book, Behind The Bars In Byculla: My Days in Prison.

In an interview with ETimes, Harman had revealed Jigna’s reaction to the show. He said, “She is happy, and that means a lot. When you build something inspired by somebody, and that person feels right about it.. that’s a big challenge and also a victory. It actually feels great how the audiences and the reviewers liked the show and the characters.”
