    H-1 Visa Stats: India Breaks Pre-COVID Records!

    Visa applications from India have surpassed pre-pandemic levels for the first time, according to VFS Global. In the first half of 2024 (January to June), visa applications were up 2% compared to the same period in 2019. Compared to the first half of 2023, applications increased by 11%.

    Experts expect this strong demand to continue, noting that India’s travel season has been extended over the past two years. She anticipates the current travel trend will persist through the end of the year.

    The rise in visa applications is notable for popular destinations like the USA, Canada, UK, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Saudi Arabia, and Switzerland.

    VFS Global also saw a significant boost in demand for its “visa at your doorstep” service, which allows customers to submit visa applications from home.

    This service experienced a 16% increase in bookings in the first half of 2024 compared to the previous year and a fivefold rise compared to 2019.

    It is available for 16 countries, including Austria, France, Germany, and the UK.
