Grandhi Srinivas, this leader was from a loyal family of Congress. His father, Grandhi Venkateswara Rao is a reputed name in the area in Congress Party.
After YSR’s demise, like many leaders, Grandhi Srinivas joined the YSR Congress.

In the 2019 elections, he emerged as a giant killer by defeating Pawan Kalyan. He expected a cabinet berth after that but could not get one.
In the 2024 elections, like most YSR Congress leaders, Grandhi also got defeated. Recently, he resigned to the party and there were rumors that he will be joining TDP soon.

TDP neglected Bhimavaram seat between 2019 and 2024 expecting that it may have to give it to Pawan Kalyan.
But Pawan Kalyan chose to contest from Pithapuram. Suddenly, there is no candidate for Janasena as well. So, TDP sent its Senior Leader Anji Babu to contest on Janasena Ticket and he won.

So, Grandhi can be a good choice for the TDP but the local leadership is opposing him.
Also, Grandhi has doubts about his future if the alliance between TDP and Janasena continue. He is worried about how Chandrababu sacrificed SVSN Varma for Pawan Kalyan in Pithapuram.
There are rumors in the constituency that Pawan Kalyan prevailed upon TDP High Command to block Grandhi. But taking Grandhi into the party can completely decimate YSR Congress in the constituency.
