Google had already decided to shut down the GPay app for its customers. However, this decision has been taken only for users living in the US.
The service has been discontinued from June 4
Google Pay app has been discontinued for users living in America from June 4, 2024. That is, people living in America are neither able to find Google Pay app on Play Store nor it is being used with the already installed app.
Why did Google take this decision
Actually, Google is changing its plans. Apart from GPay, the company also provides the facility of Google Wallet to its users. In such a situation, the company is working on a plan to provide mobile payment service along with Google Wallet to its users.
Let us tell you, Google Pay app has been closed only in America. It has not been closed for Indian users.
Google Wallet app in India
Let us tell you, Google Wallet app has been launched in India recently. However, it works differently from Google Pay app. This app cannot be used for digital payment in India.
Google Wallet can be used only for a few tasks. With Google Wallet, you can save movie or event tickets on Android phone.
Apart from this, this app is used to access boarding pass for flight. In this Google app, you can keep a digital copy of physical document.
