    Govt Should Take The Blame

    Polavaram Files Burning

The other day, Files burning at the Polavaram Project Office became a sensation.

These, which are claimed to be documents of the Polavaram left main canal land acquisition department, were burnt by the staff outside the office gate.

While the officials claim they are just photocopies, there are doubts if the evidence pertaining to irregularities in the land acquisition (of the previous Government) was tampered.

This is not the first instance of Files Burning. A few days ago, a major fire broke out at the Sub-Collector’s office in Madanapalle. The Government already started a probe and the initial findings are that it is the work of Former Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy.

2,400 files were burnt completely and 700 documents were burnt partially in that incident. All the files pertain to land registration documents related to assigned lands and government lands.

We are in the third month of the new Government. The Government should take the blame for not protecting this evidence.

These lapses indicate that the Government has yet to identify the moles of the previous government inside the Government.

They should have transferred such officials and secured the evidence in all government offices. But there is no safety for the files in a very important Department like the Polavaram Project.

The supporters can say it is difficult for the Government to identify the moles so quickly but it is not difficult. The local TDP leaders of every area will have the information. The Government can get information from them and take action.

This complacency by the Government will appear like a lapse and those who did Corruption in the previous Government will resort to this ‘Files Burning’ to escape.
