The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has introduced strict rules to stop the use of unauthorized posters, banners, and wall writings in both public and private spaces in the city.
This step aims to keep the city clean and make it look better, especially by ensuring that compound walls remain neat and free from clutter.

The key points of the new rules include a complete ban on all unauthorized posters and wall writings. This means no one can put up posters or write on walls without permission.
Additionally, GHMC has spoken to local printers, telling them not to print any posters unless they have official approval. If printers break this rule, they will face penalties.

Theater owners are also being asked to make sure that no movie posters are put up on walls, further reducing the visual mess caused by such advertisements.
To make sure these rules are followed, Deputy Commissioners from GHMC will enforce the ban and issue penalties to anyone who violates it. They must also report their actions to the GHMC Commissioner regularly.

The ban on unauthorized posters and wall writings is a big change for the film industry, which has relied on posters as a key way to promote movies. Posters have been the cheapest and traditional method to generate excitement about upcoming films, especially in areas where visual ads grab people’s attention.
Movie posters are often placed on theater walls, public spaces, and even private properties, helping filmmakers reach more people without spending too much on other types of advertising.
This has been especially useful for small-budget films, which can’t afford expensive promotional events to create awareness for their movies.
We have to see how the film industry reacts to this change.
