Films like Gandhi Tatha Chettu typically don’t perform well commercially in theaters, but they rely on critical acclaim —something completely absent in this case.
The word-of-mouth feedback, although limited, has been negative. Even Sukumar’s daughter, Sukriti Veni who debuted with this film, failed to leave a mark for viewers to discuss her performance.

Sukriti Veni played a character that perfectly suits her age and put in her sincere efforts. She is only good here and there with her act but struggled to express in a few places. She speaks good Telangana accent but then, there is a certain degree of poshness at some places making that out of place for the character set in an interior Telangana village.
Gandhi Tatha Chettu went unnoticed by both the regular audience and critics, failing to grab attention from a section that might appreciate such films. Even for OTT, some buzz is essential for people to anticipate it, but hardly anyone took notice of this film.
