Game Changer – Shankar Breaking Trend of Pan-India Blockbusters

Game Changer – Shankar Breaking Trend of Pan-India Blockbusters

Shankar’s films are known for their grandeur, not only in terms of budget, cast, and crew but also in their length. Over the years, his movies have maintained a certain epic scale, often reflecting in their longer runtime.

However, it seems that for Game Changer, Shankar is making a conscious shift. Recent updates suggest that the final runtime for Game Changer has been decided to be around 2 hours and 42 minutes. If this runtime holds, it would be one of the shortest in recent years for a Shankar film.

It has become a fashion now to have pan-India film with run time of over 3 hours. Animal, Salaar, Indian 2, and Kalki 2898 AD all were 3 hours plus. Recently Pushpa 2 also had a massive runtime of over 3 hours and 20 minutes. Though not many complained due to its speedy narration, such runtime is always risky.

Shankar seems to have again gone against the trend and has opted for a relatively shorter length for Game Changer. He seems to be going for a racy screenplay without any lags.

Interestingly, his shortest film happens to be 2.0 which was just short of 150 minutes. That film didn’t satisfy Shankar’s fans as many felt it was hurried with no proper weightage given to the serious issues the film was trying to deal.

Game Changer is slated for release on January 10th. The promotional activities are expected to begin in a big way soon. The pre-sales have begun overseas on a positive note.
