Gadar 2 box office collection day 36: Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starrer Gadar 2 has been performing exceedingly well at the box office but the collections are now slowing down.
Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 set the box office on fire with its mindblowing opening of Rs 40.1 crore upon release on August 11. Now, after 36 days, the film seems to be slowing down given the big competition it is facing against Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan.
According to the trade website Sacnilk, Gadar collected Rs 44 lakh in India on its 36th day. This takes the film’s nett domestic total to Rs 517.72 crore. Sunny’s film is aiming to beat the collections of Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, which made Rs 543.05 crore in India.

Gadar 2 was made at a budget of Rs 60 crore, as per director Anil Sharma, and given the investment that was put into the film, the returns are definitely worth studying. The franchise had a lot of nostalgic value but given the fact that Sunny Deol had not appeared in a hit film in a long time, trade pundits did not expect Gadar 2 to bring in such big numbers. Now, it is to be seen when the makers start prepping for Gadar 3.
Directed by Anil Sharma, Gadar 2 brings back Sunny as Tara Singh and actor Ameesha Patel as Sakeena. The film’s story moves ahead from its prequel, where the onscreen couple’s son, played by Utkarsh Sharma, is captured in Pakistan and Tara Singh goes back to rescue his son.
